Roycroft Presentation Boxes

Hand carved, wooden boxes were produced by the Roycroft artisans almost solely on commission. The very few that I’ve examined, including the two examples in my collection are, unfortunately, unsigned.

Contemplations: This deeply carved, mahogany box (12 ½" x 11") with hand forged metal straps and clasp, depicts an elaborately carved Roycroft logo. It was fashioned to contain a folio-sized edition of Contemplations, 1902, in an extraordinary modeled leather binding.
